How to Maintain Your Vehicle

The first thing you should know with how to maintain your vehicle is that your owner’s manual is your friend. It’s important to refer to the manual for the proper way to check each area of your vehicle. In this video, you will learn the basic steps on how to maintain your vehicle as demonstrated by Barry of Barry’s Auto Body in Staten Island.

The first thing you need to do is look under the hood to check your fluid levels. Here you will learn useful tips, for instance, your windshield wiper fluid should be the de-icer type to avoid freezing in the winter. It is also important to check that the brake fluid and power steering fluid are on or close to the maximum level. In knowing how to maintain your vehicle, you should refer to the owner’s manual to see what type of engine oil or tranny fluid you will need in case you’re low. Also, be sure to check your manual to learn exactly how to check your fluid levels and don’t forget to clean your dip stick!

Knowing how to maintain your vehicle is knowing what to do in case you blow a fuse or to know to check that your battery terminals are tight.
