Barry’s Auto Body shop Staten Island, is proud to name Michael Bloomfield as our Community Member of the month for February, 2020.
Mike is the owner of TekkieGeek, a Staten Island based internet technology company. Besides being a self proclaimed, “geek”, Mike is a sci-fi, comic book and superhero aficionado, a husband and the father of two beautiful daughters.
Mike started his first business when he was in middle school, sweeping the sidewalks of brick and mortar businesses four to five times per week. He attended Staten Island Technical High School, the New Jersey Institute of Technology and the College of Staten Island before starting work for a company which manufactured red light cameras.
After moving to Arizona and climbing the corporate ladder, Mike returned to Staten Island to become head of research and development for one of the largest photo booth manufacturers in the United States. On January 1, 2013, the entrepreneurial bug bit Mike again and he launched TekkieGeek.
TekkieGeek Tekie Geek provides IT services, business continuity solutions, network security, data security, IT infrastructure, and consulting, to small- and medium-sized businesses. Their recently launched home services division provides design of home theaters, smart home and security camera installations as well as whole house audio technology installations.
TekkieGeek received the Cyber Security Award at the MSP Innovation Awards by Channel Partner Insight, and has also earned a spot on Channel Futures’ MSP 501 annual list.
Barry’s Auto Body shop Staten Island is recognizing Michael Bloomfield for his service to the Staten Island Community. In addition to serving as a member of the Staten Island Chamber of Commerce where he is being honored with a Louis R. Miller Business Leadership Award in the Established Businessperson category, Mike serves on the board of directors for Meals on Wheels of Staten Island, the Staten Island Business Outreach Center, the Executive Club of Staten Island, and the South Shore Business Improvement District.
