Every day vehicle belts and hoses fail to leave a driver stranded by the side of the road. The best way to avoid being one of those drivers broken down on a crowded highway during rush hour with his/her hood lifted while smoke pours out of the engine is to bring your vehicle into Barry’s Auto Body for routine maintenance of Belts & Hoses. It is most important to check the integrity of rubber belts and hoses in the summer when outdoor temperature combined with the heat of your engine can accelerate the deterioration of the rubber. Since belts and hoses can be difficult to visually inspect, let the experts at Barry’s Auto Body provide routine maintenance for you. In the long run, routine maintenance and replacement of your vehicle’s belts and hoses will prevent breakdowns and costly repairs. Our goal is to save you, our customers, both time and money.

Vehicle maintenance is important to keep your car running optimally and to avoid unexpected breakdowns. Replacing Belts & Hoses is a simple and inexpensive component of vehicle maintenance but it is one of the most important things you can do to keep your car running smoothly.
Belts & Hoses Replacement
Belts and hoses are necessary components of every car engine. Unfortunately, they also have the shortest life span. The timing belts, alternator belts, steering belts, serpentine belts, radiator hoses, and engine hoses all have important jobs but because they are constantly exposed to engine heat, vehicle vibrations, and corrosive chemicals, they are the components most likely to crack and leak.
Warning signs that belts and hoses are nearing failure include:
Squeaking, Shimmy, Screeching, Grinding noises that begin when starting your engine or appear during operation
*It’s worth noting that grinding sounds near belts are usually associated with a bad pulley bearing.
Other symptoms of bad Belts & Hoses include:
Loss of power, leaking coolant or other fluids, illuminated dashboard lights, rising steam from the engine, Air conditioning failure, Engine Fire
If you notice any of these signs give us a call at (718) 948-8585 and speak to a member of our team.
