Barry’s Auto Body Names Nicole Malliotakis as the Community Member of the Month

We here at Barry’s Auto Body are happy to announce that our Community Member of the month for December 2020 is Nicole Malliotakis!

Nicole has been an assemblywoman since she was elected in 2010, when she became the first Cuban-American woman to be elected to office in New York State. She ran for Mayor against Bill de Blasio in 2017, and recently defeated Max Rose to become a Congresswoman.

Nicole has been a strong advocate for Staten Islanders and small businesses throughout her career. After Hurricane Sandy struck Staten Island, Nicole was out volunteering and bringing supplies to Staten Islanders who had been severely impacted by the storm.

Now, as an incoming member of the Congress, Nicole has already begun fighting for small businesses, despite not being officially inaugurated yet. She has written a letter urging for a bipartisan bill that would allow financial relief to be granted to small businesses owners and restaurant owners who have been negatively impacted by COVID and the lockdowns that have been put into place.

We thank you Nicole for all that you have done for the Staten Island community throughout your career, and for being an advocate for small businesses owners that are suffering financially in these unprecedented times. Congratulations on being named our Community Member of the Month!
