Local Collision Repair Shop Takes On Facebook

Hey everyone! It’s me again- and I’ve got some amazing news. Our Facebook groups (Flea Market Staten Island, Moms on a Budget and Buy and Sell From Home Staten Island) now have more than 40,000 members collectively! Our collision shop has successfully helped thousands of Staten Islanders communicate with each other and make on impact on the environment by facilitating the reuse of gently used car seats, clothing, furniture, household items and more.

That old saying, one man’s trash is another man’s treasure certainly rings true in these Facebook groups. Members have listed gently worn shoes, vacuum cleaners, baby car seats and dinette sets. We even had a kitchen sink for sale. Members have an opportunity to get to know each other so they feel comfortable buying and trading with one another. We act as admins to the group to keep things running smoothly but each member is responsible for doing their own research to make sure that they are getting what they bargained for. People have asked me why an auto collision repair shop would want to launch a merchandise exchange group. The answer is simple. When you are committed to protecting the environment, you do it anyway you can.

We want to reach 100,000 members by the summer. In fact, our goal is to run a contest and reward the individual who refers the largest amount of people to join our groups! My father opened this collision shop more than thirty years ago with hopes of making it the best one on Staten Island. My sister and I want to make his dream come true by getting the community involved and building long-lasting relationships with each and everyone of our customers. So, hop on Facebook today to join the Barry’s Auto Body family, help the environment and connect with thousands of Staten Islanders!
