Winner of Barry’s Auto Body Scooter Give-Away Meets Her New Ride

This is one New Year that Bridget Murphy of Westerleigh, won’t soon forget because she became the winner of the Barry’s Auto Body Scooter Give-Away contest.  Bridget picked up her 2016 Kymco Agility scooter this week from the Eltingville auto body shop.

Said Ms. Murphy “When I found out that I won the scooter I was so excited, I couldn’t believe it. Thank you so much to everyone at Barry’s Auto Body.”

Barry Crupi, owner of Barry’s Auto Body decided to hold the contest as a way to celebrate 30 years of successful business.

Said Barry Crupi, “My father started this business 30 years ago as a small auto body repair shop.  Today we have more than tripled our size and we are the only environmentally friendly auto body shop on Staten Island – meaning that we use low VOC paint, wax and other products in our daily operations.  Traditional auto body shops can generate a high level of chemical emissions – the goal of Barry’s Auto Body is to demonstrate that an auto body shop can reduce its carbon footprint and still provide quality auto body repair and maintenance.  I am proud to say that we achieve that goal every day.”

Barry’s Auto Body decided to give-away the Agility scooter to further emphasis their green philosophy.  The Kymco is an agile bike offering an easy ride and under the seat storage which is helpful when running errands on crowded New York City roads. The scooter has a 49cc four stroke engine and is a 90 MPG rating. It is lighter than most small motorcycles and easier to handle for beginners.

Crupi continued, “In keeping with our green philosophy we decided to give-away this Kymco scooter because it uses less fuel and generates fewer emissions than an automobile.  We are very happy that Ms. Murphy will be using this quality scooter.”
